A three day course with overnight stay option. The course running time is 10.30am-4.30pm daily.
On this course students will learn essential cooking methods to make life in the kitchen easier and they’ll be able to cook plenty of delicious nutritious recipes with ease and panache! We aim to inspire students to continue their culinary journey at home and to competently reproduce key recipes time and time again. Students can build on their newfound knowledge to experiment and broaden their cooking skills further.
We pack lots in to this three-day course but in a fun, relaxed environment and the course also has some built-in flexibility for attendance. Students can attend for three days and stay for two nights, enjoying the lovely garden, pool, tennis court and games room after a busy day in the kitchen. Or they can come on a daily basis, taking their supper home with them. Those pushed for time can join for a day and choose the daily menu which suits their needs best. The core menu and skills remain the same but the seasons dictate the ingredients so check in advance. We can also tailor bespoke courses for groups.
The aim of each day’s course is to learn how to cook a highly versatile lunch dish which students will then enjoy on the day. By the end of the afternoon session they will have created something delicious for supper too. The morning sessions run from 10.30am-1.30pm and the afternoon sessions from 2.30pm-4pm so there is plenty of time to relax before enjoying supper. For those staying overnight, they will also prepare a delicious breakfast to set them up for the day ahead.
The daily menus will be centred around vital and transferable skills with an assortment of useful recipes, both savoury and sweet, to incorporate these. For example, one day might be about making a great Sunday lunch with all the trimmings, another about creating the perfect sauce, the backbone of so many popular dishes; or perhaps some Asian cooking with mouth-watering curries and stir fries.
The students gain enormous confidence in the kitchen on this course and generally find it a highly rewarding experience.
